Even today, car ferries are a fact of life in Fjord Norway and Northern Norway where fjords cut deeply into the landscape and make it impossible – or at the very least inconvenient – to get up or down the coast by car without crossing the fjord. Hurtigruten, the coastal steamer that serves more than 30 ports along the Norwegian coast, still traffic the coastline from Bergen in the . During the summer of , I devoted six weeks to photographing the amazing mountains and fjords of Norway. I traveled more than km ( miles), from the capital city of Oslo in the south, as far north as the Lofoten Islands and Tromsø, above the Arctic Circle. In between I saw some of the most unique and impressive peaks in the world.

Trysil is the largest skiing destination in Norway. From Oslo Airport, bus is the easiest mode of travel to Trysil. Hop on the bus at the airport and arrive in Trysil 3 hours later.
